EasyPark Group signs strategic deal with Austrian parking pioneer HANDYPARKEN
The global leader of parking tech, EasyPark Group, continues to grow and is now expanding the coverage in Austria. After a new agreement with HANDYPARKEN, EasyPark will take over all contracts and agreements, with the exception of Vienna, and become the most wide-spread app for digital parking services in Austria.
"We are absolutely thrilled to continue with our exciting expansion plans across Austria and Europe. As we broaden our reach and amplify our impact, we will be able to fulfill our vision to make cities more livable, by revolutionizing urban landscapes through the creation of innovative, intelligent, and seamlessly integrated digital services." says Cameron Clayton, CEO of EasyPark Group.
HANDYPARKEN, operated by A1 Telekom, Austria’s leading provider of digital services and communications solutions, is handing over their city contracts to EasyPark Group through an asset purchase agreement. This means that a total of 16 new cities will be added to the EasyPark app. By the end of the year EasyPark will be present in 120 Austrian cities.
"Our goal is to bring the digitalization of parking to the next level in Austria. With the exception of Vienna, digital parking transactions currently make up about 15-30 percent of the market in Austria which is below the European average. Within five years, EasyPark’s plan is to increase the digital transactions up to at least 35 percent so that the Austrian market is more in line with the rest of Europe." says Markus Heingärtner, Country Director Austria at EasyPark Group.
EasyPark Group offers several parking features globally. Besides making it possible to start, extend and stop the parking session, drivers can also pay for electric vehicle charging, find streets with high parking availability and pre-book parking spaces. The EasyPark app is also adapted for in-car operating systems such as Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. Users will also be able to use the app for cross-border parking in all of Austria’s neighboring countries.
The asset purchase agreement is part of EasyPark Group's global growth strategy. With coverage in more than 20 countries and over 4,000 cities, EasyPark Group has expanded across Europe, the US and Australia in recent years, offering the most comprehensive coverage of parking and mobility apps in the world. EasyPark Group today reaches approximately 46 million annual users, with an average annual transaction growth of 60 percent over the last five years.
